  • Multi-Carrier Rating Engine

    To Top

Pipeline's robust rating engine enables our clients to gain control of their transportation costs by centralizing multiple carrier rate data and combining it with each carrier's up-to-date service standards. Pipeline allows shippers & consignees to make the very best decision possible for each shipment by providing them with a menu of choices sorted by the best combination of net cost and service standard. Pipeline stores and maintains all of the rate and service tables necessary for the retrieval and presentation of carrier specific rates and service times for any zip to zip pair in the U.S. and Canada. Pipeline not only provides rate information for standard LTL shipments, but can also provide rating for guaranteed shipments complete with any accessorial charges required for the shipment.

  • Execution (BOL Preparation & Pick-up Notification)

    To Top

The execution of shipments through Pipeline is a simple progression from the rating phase to the carrier selection phase, to the bill of lading preparation, and finally into the shipment tendering process. Once a shipper has retrieved a rate quote for a shipment, they simply select the carrier providing the best service/rate combination, and Pipeline carries over all of the information from the rate quote into the bill of lading preparation fields. Pipeline then provides for the input of packaging specs, commodities, reference numbers (PO Numbers, Shipper's reference numbers, Carrier Pro Numbers, etc...), and special instructions, with the final Bill of Lading prepared with the click of a button. Once the bill of lading is prepared, the client is able to print it, or e-mail it to multiple receivers, or save it to a file.

The shipment may then be scheduled for pick-up directly with the selected carrier via an electronic notification (EDI-204). Not only is the carrier notified of the shipment ready for pick-up, but the client tendering the shipment receives confirmation, and any party selected by the client can also receive a notification.

  • Visibility (Tracking / Tracing)

    To Top

Visibility to shipment movement is an integral component in the effective management of any supply chain. Pipeline's powerful tracking module provides the client with real-time shipment visibility for all shipments moving through the Pipeline system, regardless of the carrier selected. Pipeline begins tracking the shipment from the moment that shipment is scheduled for pick-up, then continues to track the shipment until it delivers at its final destination. Pipeline also provides the client with estimated arrival times during transit, and details surrounding the quality of delivery (clear, short, damaged, etc...) once it's been made.

Many parties to a shipment require shipping documents be available for viewing or presentation after a shipment has been delivered. Pipeline satisfies this requirement through its document retrieval capability, which provides for the retrieval of imaged documents including signed bills of lading, delivery receipts, cargo claims documents, and weight & inspection certificates. Pipeline's Document Retrieval function can be searched by Pro number, PO Number, or Bill of Lading Number, which provides for easy access for every client.

  • Global Data Look-up

    To Top

Data retention and the ability to easily search that data is an important tool for professionals working in transportation, customer service, accounting, sales or operations. Pipeline provides a powerful database of quote and shipment history that is easily searched, filtered, and exported based on each user's specific requirements. Clients using Pipeline no longer have to manually keep quote data or shipment history information, because Pipeline retains all of the information surrounding quotes, pick-up requests, and bills of lading prepared and presents that information in the Quote Look-up module. Pipeline allows a client to retrieve information filtered by date range, carrier, or data type, then sort the resulting data by multiple fields.

  • Custom Reporting

    To Top

Pipeline's Custom Reporting Functionality offers both vast standard and ad-hoc reporting capabilities. Standard reports include: Cost by State, Cost by Carrier, Cost by Shipper, Cost by Consignee, Tonnage by State, Tonnage by Carrier, Freight Class Breakdown, Carrier's Service Performance. Through Pipeline, authorized personnel have online access to standard reports and the ability to generate custom or ad-hoc reports with just a few clicks. Pipeline easily integrates with most ERPs, warehouse management systems, and order management systems, to become a supply chain data warehouse. Pipeline's reporting capabilities also provide export functionality that enables users to download data in a variety of formats and manipulate it in a variety of ways.

  • User Interface

    To Top

A simple user interface allows Pipeline clients to easily enter shipper/consignee location information as well as commodity information. Through Pipeline, Cargo Claims are also easily prepared and filed, then, once filed, those claims can be monitored for status changes or payment information. Pipeline was built from the shipper's perspective to ensure that it's data retention and reporting capabilities were robust enough for executive use, while still user friendly enough for the employees who are actually executing shipments at the dock level. Few, if any, products in the marketplace today can boast the simplicity of Pipeline, while also providing such a powerful data retention and reporting capability.
